Roger Federer was up to his usual masterful tricks at the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships in Dubai on Monday evening.
The Swiss Maestro moved past German Benjamin Becker, 6-1, 6-4, in 62 minutes, knocking five aces and losing only five first-serve points to progress in the tournament that he has already won five times.
It was a clean, brisk effort from Federer to get through (24 winners, 11 unforced and 13 of 16 net points won), but it was Federer's otherworldly showmanship that brought the crowd to its feet during the match.
Watch as Federer casually trots the length of the court to knock off this gorgeous tweener after a rapid fire exchange at the net with the German. And though you can't see it, when Federer is putting away the volley at the net, Becker is lying prone on the court, having fallen down.
It's just another example of the grace and the ease of Federer, who can seemingly reproduce these impossibly good tweeners at will.
How does he do it?
