Roger Federer, Davis Cup, Geneva

Roger Federer may be the No. 2 Swiss player at the moment, but when it comes to jaw-dropping shotmaking, he'll always be No. 1.

Things were tense in Geneva, Switzerland today as the heavily favored Swiss team had fallen behind Kazakhstan when Stan Wawrinka was upset by Andrey Golubev in the day's first rubber.

Would Roger Federer also fall victim to the upset bug?

Hell, no! Watch as Federer puts his game into cruise control against Mikhail Kukushkin in the third set, sending a soaring chip lob over his opponent's head, then zooming into the net for the clean and casual put-away volley.

Just for good measure, Federer cruises over to throw a low five at his captain Severin Luthi, and just like that, all was right in Geneva.

Federer's and Wawrinka will try to pull the Swiss into the driver's seat on Saturday, when they play all-important doubles tie. Until then, we can watch this replay a hundred more times, because it really was quite “cool.”
