Swiss avant-garde watchmaker TAG Heuer announced Tuesday that they have added World No. 18 Kei Nishikori as a brand ambassador. Nishikori joins other impressive names that have also represented the 150-plus-year-old company, such as Maria Sharapova and Leonardo DiCaprio.
“There is a lot in common between TAG Heuer’s relentless search for perfection and the core values of athletes who are in constant pursuit of victory,” said Nishikori. “It is a great honor for me to join the exceptional list of world-class athletes who have represented TAG Heuer over the years.”
In 2011 Nishikori defeated world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, marking the first time that a Japanese male player had ever beaten the reigning No. 1. This year, Nishikori became the first Japanese male player to reach the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam since 1995.
Nishikori is the highest-ranked male tennis player in Japanese history.
