(December 17, 2010) American sweetheart, Melanie Oudin encouraged herself to "Believe" and have "Courage" with her customized Adidas Barricade shoes at the 2009 and 2010 US Open. In 2011, she will begin wearing all new Wilson apparel and footwear.
Oudin currently uses the Wilson K Factor KBlade Tour racquet and will now be exclusively a Wilson player and endorser. In 2011, she will be channeling "girl power" with the all new Wilson BLX Blade 98 in pink.
At Wilson headquarters, Melanie confidently said, “Wilson has always provided me with the latest technology and the best racquets for my game. After meeting with the team, I knew that Wilson had the style and design behind their line and it was created for high performance tennis players.”
She is a young player with a lot of potential and is an American hopeful for tennis. She proved that point getting to the 4th round of Wimbledon in 2009 after defeating former world no. 1 Jelena Jankovic. She made a major impact at the 2009 US Open were she upset top players Elena Dementieva, Maria Sharapova and Nadia Petrova to make it to the quarterfinals where she lost to the current world no. 1, Caroline Wozniacki.
Melanie achieved a career high ranking in 2010 as the world no. 31 at 19 years of age. She joined forces with the United States' Fed Cup team again in 2010 where she helped the team travel up to the finals against winning team, Italy, in San Diego where she beat French Open champion, Francesca Schiavone, in straight sets.
The 2011 Wilson clothing and shoe line is new gear that will incorporate high end performance and technology that is said to suite Oudin's game. Global Business Director of Apparel and Footwear that designed the line for high performance players, Claire Ortiz said, “Melanie’s energy on the court and winning personality are exactly what Wilson represents. We know her style and authenticity as a player is a perfect match for us."
