(October 4, 2010) Are the potential future Davis Cup and Fed Cup powers rising in the East? If the junior Davis Cup and junior Fed Cup results are any indication, Eastern nations may be future forces in the ITF international team competition.

Japan was crowned Junior Davis Cup champion for the first time in its history as it defeated Canada 2-0 in the final. 

Russia's girls retained their Junior Fed Cup by BNP Paribas title by beating China 2-1.  France claimed the bronze medal in the boys' event, while Ukraine took third place among the girls.
