Grigor Dimitrov could get used to being the top seed.

The 22-year-old Bulgarian completed his first tournament ever as the No. 1 seed without the loss of a set on Sunday, as he marched past defending champion Lukas Rosol, 7-6 (2), 6-1, for his third ATP World Tour title and second of 2014 in Bucharest.

The victory places Dimitrov in a select group of five ATP players to have won multiple titles this season. Since beginning a pairing with coach Roger Rasheed, Dimitrov has gone 29-8 with three titles in eleven events.

“I have worked really hard to start winning titles,” said Dimitrov. “I have put in enough effort, time and sacrifices to get here.”

Dimitrov took an early 2-0 against Rosol, but the Czech bounced back and would eventually save four set points in the twelfth game of the set to force a tiebreaker. From there, the Bulgarian would dominate the tiebreaker to take the first set in 58 minutes.

In the second set Dimitrov did not face a break point while winning 18 of 27 return points and breaking Rosol three times on three opportunities to cruise to the title.

It was enough to leave Rosol impressed. “Grigor was just amazing today,” he said. “I played good tennis, but Grigor was better on the court and I had no answer. I am sure he will break into the Top 10 very soon.”
