Julie Cohen and Bojana Jovanovski Reach Their First Career WTA Finals (July 27, 2012) -- The finals of the Baku Cup in Azerbaijan will feature two women seeking their first ever WTA tour title as American Julia Cohen and Serbia's Bojana Jovanovski advanced in today's semifinals.

Currently ranked No. 134 in the world, Cohen had won just one WTA main draw match before playing in Baku. Her semifinal was no easy task as she was forced to battle against Russia's Olga Puchkova in an up and down match that during one point featured a 41-shot rally.

Cohen, after dropping the first set, managed to pull ahead to a 4-1 lead in the decider and eventually closed out a 3-6, 6-0, 6-3 victory.

Waiting for Cohen in the finals will be No. 5 seed Jovanovski who had an easier time of it in her semifinal against No. 2 seed Alexandra Panova. Jovanovski saved the only break point against her while she broke Panova six times to earn an easy 6-2, 6-2 win.

Tomorrow will be the first WTA final for both Cohen and Jovanovski as well as being their first time meeting ever on tour.
