Hours after a vicious and intimidating outburst, that left an umpire cowering in fear, Alexander Zverev has been tossed out of the Acapulco singles draw due to unsportsmanlike conduct.

Tennis Express

The German went ballistic at what he felt was a bad call during the match tiebreak of his doubles match against Harri Heliovarra of Finland and Llloyd Glasspool of Great Britain. Zverev and Melo lost 6-2, 4-6, 10-6.

When a return winner that was ruled to have clipped the line, gave Heliovaarra and Glasspool three match points at 9-6 in the match tiebreak, Zverev argued vehemently, hurling profanities at the umpire to no avail.

On the next point Zverev was aced, and he went directly to the chair after the handshake and smashed his racquet at the feet of the umpire, several times.

See the incident below:

And here’s the original call that had Zverev miffed.

And here is the statement from the ATP. Zverev's default means that Peter Gojowczyk will take a walkover into the quarterfinals.
