Roger Federer is getting back in the swing of things.
The 41-year-old Swiss superstar thrilled fans posting practice video on Instagram of Federer hitting on a hard court.
Kyrgios: Playing it Safe is Too Risky
Wearing a red "RF" baseball cap, Federer, who is not wearing any taping over his surgically-repaired knee, moves fluidly and hits three relaxed forehands before getting up close with the camera.
The clip earned three fire emojis from three-time Grand Slam champion and long-time Federer buddy Stan Wawrinka.
Federer has not played a match since his straight-sets Wimbledon quarterfinal loss to Hubert Hurkacz in July of 2021.
In August of 2021, Federer announced that he’d be undergoing knee surgery and would be out for “many, many months.”
The 20-time Grand Slam champion is slated to play next month's Laver Cup in London and his hometown tournament in Basel, which starts on October 24th.
Federer, who owns 103 career titles and 1,251 career match wins, has said playing the 2022 Laver Cup is a goal.
“That’s one of my goals, to really get myself into it again to come back and hopefully play in places like the O2 Arena in London,” Federer said.
