Keeping up with the game of tennis, by the numbers. Each day at Tennis Now we’ll give you a fresh set—without any further ado, here’s what’s happening on Day 4 of Roland Garros.

13

Number of consecutive wins notched by Petra Kvitova after her 6-0, 6-4 win over Spain’s Lara Arruabarrena on Day 4. The Czech cracked 27 winners against 24 unforced errors and won 60 of 101 points to improve to 32-6 on the season and 23-9 lifetime at Roland Garros.

24-5

Elina Svitolina’s record on clay since the beginning of 2017. The Ukrainian slipped past Viktoria Kuzmova, 6-3, 6-4 to book her spot in the third round at a major for the 12th time. Svitolina has a winning streak of her own as well—it was stretched to 7 matches today, and she has won 14 of her last 15 sets.

17-0

Novak Djokovic’s record against qualifiers in Grand Slams. The Serb defeated Spain’s Jaume Munar, 7-6(1), 6-4, 6-4, to book his spot in the third round, where he will face No..13-seeded Roberto Bautista Agut. Djokovic improves to 61-12 lifetime at Roland Garros and 242-40 at the majors.

3

Number of consecutive five-setters that Alexander Zverev had lost at majors prior to today’s 2-6, 7-5, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 victory over Dusan Lajovic. The German will next face Damir Dzumhur, where he will try to notch his first ever win over a Top 50 player at a major.

5

Number of sets that three Top 20 seeds on the men's side had to play on Day 4. And they all were playing at the same time, after coming back from two sets to one down. No.2-seeded Zverev (d. Lajovic), No.4-seeded Grigor Dimitrov (d. Donaldson) and No.19-seeded Kei Nishikori (d. Paire) all needed five sets to advance, but Dimitrov was the only player to need over four hours. He used four hours and 19 minutes to get past a cramping Jared Donaldson 10-8 in the 5th.

17-6

The five-set record of Kei Nishikori, who has now won five of his last six five-setters and also, rather remarkably, holds a 6-1 lifetime record in five-setters against the Top 10.
