Keeping up with the game of tennis, by the numbers. Each day at Tennis Now we’ll give you a fresh set—without any further ado, here’s what happened on Wednesday:

20

As in Top 20. Chile’s Nicolas Jarry, a 6’6” powerhouse who is 22, got his first Top 20 win when he defeated World No.19 Albert Ramos-Vinolas in straight sets at the Rio Open.

30

The number of aces struck by American John Isner at Delray Beach, but it wasn’t enough to keep Isner from falling to Germany’s Peter Gojowczyk, 7-6(3), 6-7(4), 7-6(5).

36

The age of Julien Benneteau and Nicolas Mahut. Both players advanced at the Open 13 in Marseille today. Additionally, Mahut and Benneteau are playing doubles together this week and they’ll contest the quarterfinals tomorrow.

3-6

The record of last year’s French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko this season. The Latvian is 0-5 against the Top 50 on the season after her loss to Elena Vesnina in Dubai today.

9-2

Angelique Kerber’s record against the Top 50 in 2018. The German struggled last season and went only 10-20 against the Top 50. Even more interesting is the fact that Kerber is now 6-2 against the Top 30; she went 2-14 against the Top 30 last season.

Kerber will face Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic on Thursday at Dubai.

1

American Steve Johnson recorded his first career win over Milos Raonic in Delray Beach, notching a 6-2, 6-4 win over the World No.32. Raonic drops to 1-3 on the season with his loss.
