The Russian improves to 14-5 on the season and will bid for her first final of the season when she meets either defending champion Peng Shuai or Sara Sorribes Tormo.
Sharapova won 23 of 27 first-serve points and saved two of three break points, while breaking Voegele’s serve five times on ten opportunities.
In earlier action, 19-year-old Aryna Sabalenka reached her second career semifinal—and second in less than a month—with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Lin Zhu of China.
Sabalenka will face Christina McHale or Sara Errani in the semis.
