Marion Bartoli is making her return to the WTA Tour.
The 33-year-old made the announcement today on social media, saying that she plans to return by April, hopefully for the Miami Open.
“I’m coming back this year on the professional tour,” she said. “I’m hoping to be ready for March and the Miami Open.”
The 2013 Wimbledon champion is a former World No.7 that has not played on the tour since 2013. She owns eight career titles and is a 19-time finalist on the WTA Tour.
Bartoli underwent dramatic weight loss in 2016 and later revealed that she was suffering from a mysterious virus. She has made a full recovery and expressed her joy this winter. “I can’t thank enough all my family, friends and fans who stood by me during one of the toughest experiences of my life,” she said.
