It may have felt a bit like deja vu for Roger Federer at Wimbledon. Once again the seven-time champion had to face a British player under the roof of Centre Court. In just under 90 minutes, Federer wrapped up a convincing 6-4, 6-2, 6-2 win that puts him back in the fourth round. It was also Federer’s 150th tour-level win on grass.
"I'm clearly very happy because, well, the goal was to get to the second week somehow," the seven-time champion said. "Now I won nine straight sets, which is great.I didn't know for myself where I was, so I am happy where I am now. Rest a couple days. Hopefully step it up a little bit more again on Monday."

Once again Federer enjoyed another victory that puts him a step ahead in the men’s draw. Federer, who saw off British qualifier Marcus Willis in his last match, found himself facing a higher-ranked Brit for his third round.
World No. 91 Dan Evans hoped the Centre Court crowd might help him in his efforts. Yet it was Federer who put on a master class of grass court tennis. After the match, Federer hinted that he had very good fortune in playing British players in his last two matches, because it ensured a Centre Court slot, which enabled him to stay away from the rain and under Wimbledon's cozy Centre Court roof.
"I definitely got a bit lucky to play British guys, which put us also on Centre Court," he said. "So I'm the only guy I think in the fourth round, which is maybe a little bit of an advantage. Federer added that it was his improving tennis that pleased him as much as the fact that he's the only man that has reached the round of 16 at SW19. "There's a lot of tennis that needs to be played to win the tournament," he said. "I'm really pleased of how actually my level has gone up, how round by round I've been able to play better. Yeah, I've gotten through this tough first week in terms of weather.
Despite a somewhat close first set, the third-seeded Federer took control and never looked back.
Federer has now also reached the second week at Wimbledon for the 14th time. With a career record of 305-50, Federer is just one win shy of Martina Navratilova for the all-time record for Grand Slam wins.
Federer will next play the winner of the Steve Johnson versus Grigor Dimitrov match that was suspended due to weather.
