Lepchenko, who upset top-seeded Caroline Wozniacki yesterday for her third career Top 10 victory, has regained her form and confidence in her Stanford return. The left-hander had lost in the opening round of seven straight tournaments before her run to the final four this week.
Earlier, Elina Svitolina defeated Alison Riske, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.
The No. 8 seeded Svitolina will face either second-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska or fifth-seeded Angelique Kerber for a spot in the final. Both Radwanska and Kerber are former Stanford finalists.
The 60th-ranked Lepchenko will play Karolina Pliskova in Saturday's semifinals.
