A pair of first-time finalists will battle for the title at the Baku Cup on Sunday.

Russia’s Margarita Gasparyan and Romania’s Patricia-Maria Tig scored a pair for the WTA’s rising stars on Saturday in Azerbaijan, taking out the tournament’s top two seeds in two surprising semifinals.

The pair entered this year’s Baku Cup with a combined one Tour-level victory, and now they’re set to play a final that will see one net their first career title.

World No. 112 Gasparyan took out second-seeded Karin Knapp, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 in two hours and 32 minutes, while World No. 154 Tig swept past top-seeded Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, 6-3, 6-2.
