Stan Wawrinka put the Swiss ahead by taking down Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in Lille in four sets.

Stan Wawrinka outhit and outplayed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to put the Swiss Davis Cup team in the lead in Lille, France, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
After splitting the first two sets, Wawrinka moved ahead in the third set and, despite failing to convert two set points with Tsonga serving at 2-5, battled back from 0-30 down in the next game to close out the set.
The match was played in front of a record Davis Cup crowd of 27,432 in a converted football stadium in the French Town.
Wawrinka would claim two more breaks in the fourth set with inspired play and assertive hitting. He closed the match at the net with a backhand volley, marking just his second win against a top 15 player in Davis Cup singles.
