Prior to the US Open, Federer and Nadal jointly announced they will be teammates at the 2017 Laver Cup.
Roger and Rafa reunited today as Federer traveled to Mallorca to join Nadal for the official inauguration of the Rafael Nadal Tennis Academy in Manacor.
For the first time in 13 years, both champions are ranked outside the Top 4. Champions who hold a combined 31 Grand Slam titles both looked fit and relaxed at today's reunion.
As devoted dad to two sets of twins, Federer is grateful his kids have seen him play professionally.
The Grand Slam king said if his kids ever decide to pursue tennis, they'll attend the King of Clay's academy.
"I"m super happy to be here," Federer said at the event. "I'll know where I'll send my kids if they want to learn how to play tennis."
In their last meeting, Federer edged Nadal, 6-3, 5-7, 6-3, in the 2015 Basel final. Federer snapped a five-match losing streak to Nadal, who still leads the iconic rivalry, 23-11.
Rafa said Roger is a role model for students at his Academy.
"It's very important for all of us to have you here," Nadal told Federer at the ceremony. "You represent the values and example for kids at our Academy."
