Video: The Marion Bartoli Workout

Former Wimbledon winner Marion Bartoli retired from tennis two years ago, but has re-emerged as a work-out warrior.

The 31-year-old Bartoli, who owns and operates her own fashion design company and works as a tennis television analyst, has become a bit of a gym rat.

A sculpted Bartoli shows strength sharing some of her favorite exercises in a series of Instagram posts, including encouragement from her dog in one video.

When she announced her retirement from the pro circuit at the 2013 Cincinnati tournament, Bartoli said her body, punished by years of playing and practicing, could no longer withstand the rigors of pro tennis.

"I made my dream a reality and it will stay forever with me, but now my body just can't cope with everything," Bartoli said in her retirement announcement.

Given the fact she looks fitter than ever and still cracks the ball cleanly and powerfully from her compact two-handed strokes there has been some speculation all the training is in preparation for a comeback.

Consider a 35-year-old Venus Williams returned to the Top 10 this week, a couple of months after a 33-year-old Flavia Pennetta beat a 32-year-old Roberta Vinci in the US Open final, and it's easy to envision Bartoli resuming a successful post-30 playing career.

Except for one thing: She says she has no immediate plans to resume her playing career.

"My fashion design is taking me a lot of time," Bartoli said prior to the playing the legends doubles event at the WTA Finals. "It's just great for me to have a few times of tennis here and there where I can just relax and have fun on the court and just be happy."
