LTA Faces "Financial Black Hole"

The LTA will lose nearly $10 million this year and is facing a "financial black hole" for 2019, the BBC reports.

Citing LTA regional briefing documents, the BBC reports British Tennis will face total losses of nearly $16 million over the past two years.

As a result, the LTA may close regional offices in a cost-cutting measure.

"The LTA is now looking at how best to deliver the new vision and where it can have the greatest impact, to meet the needs of fans, players, coaches and venues to play tennis across Britain," the LTA said in a statement.

Construction costs to complete the roof over Wimbledon's Court One have caused a temporary revenue decline for the grass-court Grand Slam, which has also impacted the LTA's bottom line.
