Justin Gimelstob has resigned from his post as a Tennis Channel broadcaster, effective immediately. The 42-year-old American, who stepped down from the ATP Board of Directors on Wednesday, pleaded no contest to a felony battery charge for assaulting an acquaintance in October in 2018.

The charge was reduced to a misdemeanor and Gimelstob was handed three years probation, 52 weeks of anger management and 60 days of community labor as a punishment.

Tennis Channel has made the following statement on Gimelstob.

The ATP’s Player Council will vote on a member to replace Gimelstob on May 14 in Rome. There are currently 15 names in the mix.
