After much deliberation, five-time champion Andy Murray has elected to take a wild card into next week’s Fever Tree Championships at Queen’s Club. The 31-year-old Scotsman, who underwent right hip surgery in January and has not played since last July, will face Nick Kyrgios in first-round action in London.
Murray holds a 5-0 lifetime record against Kyrgios, but one would have to think the Aussie will be the favorite in their sixth meeting, with Murray surely needing to shed quite a bit of rust in his first competitive match in 11 month. Press were on hand on Friday as the two-time Wimbledon champion played a pair of practice sets with Cameron Norrie, splitting them. By all accounts Murray moved well and looked fit.
