No.4-seeded Lucas Pouille was having a tough time with Jan-Lennard Struff on Wednesday at the Mercedes Cup in Stuttgart. He dropped the first set and had to go to a tiebreaker in the middle set to force a decider. The decider was close as well, with Struff saving two match points to force a third-set tiebreaker and then earning a match point at 8-7 in the third. Then this happened:


The Frenchman’s quick thinking and even quicker hands allowed him to survive this incredible point. He would go on to take the final two points to notch a 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(8) victory over Struff.

Pouille advances to face Germany’s Philipp Kohlschreiber in the quarterfinals. The German also won in a third-set breaker on Wednesday, defeating American Steve Johnson, 7-6(3), 5-7, 7-6(6).
