Tsitsipas' Winning Dive in Losing Fall

Even in a losing effort, Stefanos Tsitsipas gives us reason to smile.

Watch the dynamic Greek pull off this diving winner against John Isner.

More: Federer Streaks Into 16th Wimbledon Quarterfinal

The ninth-seeded Isner won the match, 6-4, 7-6 (8), 7-6 (4), advancing to his first Wimbledon quarterfinal against Milos Raonic.

Contesting his fifth Grand Slam, Tsitsipas produced his best major result and earned new fans in the process with his flair for shot-making spectacle, including this jaw-dropping dive vs. Jared Donaldson.

Tsitsipas and fellow NextGen star Denis Shapovalov both possess jolting one-handed backhands—and he takes pride in reviving the one-hander among the younger set.

"I always preferred the one-handed backhand because it was more natural to me," Tsitsipas said. "And I also like Shapovalov's backhand. It's very, very nice. Very clean technically backhand and very fluid and nice motion. It actually helps him a lot. He's a lefty so he can also open the court very well from the backhand and also play down the line, also.

"I would kind of say there's an evolution in that in the way the one-handed backhand is rising, you know. People see many players now with the one-handed backhand and get inspired, they want to do the same. So, it's nice to have this kind of influence in the Next Gen of players that play with the one-handed backhand. It makes it more interesting for the fans and, you know, to inspire other people to do the same thing."
