Tomas Berdych will miss the complete U.S. Open hardcourt series, including the U.S. Open. The Czech, a former World No.4 who is currently ranked 59, is suffering back issues, and was forced out of Wimbledon this year due to the same injury.
The good news for Berdych is that he only played eight matches last year after Wimbledon, winning two at Los Cabos, one at the U.S. Open and one in Beijing.
The Czech has yet to release an official announcement on his status, but his withdrawals from Washington D.C., Toronto, Cincinnati and the U.S. Open are confirmed.
