World No. 5 Simona Halep is the second top 10 player to announce her withdrawal from the Rio Olympics this summer. The Romanian cited the Zika Virus in a Facebook post on Friday.

“I regret to announce that I have decided I will not compete in the Olympic Games taking place this summer in Rio,” Halep wrote. “The reason for my decision is the concern regarding the danger posed by the Zika virus.”
Halep joins Milos Raonic, who announced his pullout from Rio earlier today on Facebook, and many other top athletes who have opted out due to the Zika scare.
