Singles gets all the love and double gets overlooked – but what about wheelchair doubles? How many people even realize that Wimbledon has recently announced that it will be holding wheelchair singles at next year’s Championships?

Anyhow, we don’t mean to give you a guilt trip if you weren’t paying attention to this year’s wheelchair draws at Wimbledon (we’ve been guilty, too). But we do want to show you some of what you missed. We just came across this remarkable highlight from Gustavo Fernandez and Nicolas Peifer’s victory over Stephane Houdet and Shingo Kunieda in the men’s wheelchair doubles semifinals. It’s Fernandez who makes the unbelievable play, showing the same athleticism, grit and a never-say-die spirit that we’re accustomed to admiring in our able-bodied heroes. Fernandez and Peifer would go on to claim the title.

And we're still gawking at this amazing play...
