Tennis Australia is seeking a meeting with Bernard Tomic to clear the air over his gripes with his nation's governing body—and potentially pave the way for the troubled Tomic to return to the team for the Davis Cup semifinals in September.

"We want to offer Bernard the opportunity to raise the issues he has raised, so we can address those with him," TA president Steve Healy told the media today. "We think the criticisms are unjustified—he needs to hear that. He needs to get some detail, and we want to bring him back into the fold. I think the important thing to understand is he's had fantastic support from Tennis Australia and we want him to understand and appreciate that and then welcome him back into Davis Cup."
Defending champion Tomic is currently competing in Bogota where he is the No. 2 seed at this week's ATP 250-level tournament.
Tomic ripped Tennis Australia officials, including Hall of Famer and Aussie legend Patrick Rafter, during a press conference rant at Wimbledon. The outburst led to his suspension from the team for last weekend's Davis Cup quarterfinals in Darwin.
Tomic was arrested last week in Miami after he reportedly refused to turn down the volume from music playing in his penthouse at the W South Beach Hotel and then refused to vacant the room.
Australia battled back from an 0-2 deficit for the first time in 76 years as Lleyton Hewitt, playing his 77th career Davis Cup match, clinched a dramatic 3-2 victory over Kazakhstan on Sunday.
In the aftermath of that victory, Australian captain Wally Masur said he hoped Tomic would return to the team for the Davis Cup semifinals against host Great Britain, September 18-20th.
