Karen Khachanov knocked off four Top 10 opponents—John Isner, Alexander Zverev, Dominic Thiem and Novak Djokovic—to capture his first career Masters title in Paris.
Thiem believes Khachanov's Paris power surge is a prelude to major achievement.

The Roland Garros runner-up faces Khachanov in the Mubadala World Tennis Championship exhibition opener at Zayed Sports City in Abu Dhabi tomorrow.
Thiem says the 11th-ranked Russian is headed for the Top 10 and Grand Slam title contention soon because Khachanov has no major weakness.
"For me it was only a question of time until (Khachanov) makes his breakthrough," Thiem told The Gulf News' N.D. Prashant. "For me there is no weakness actually, he is a big top player with very fast and powerful strokes. I think he was achieving too little the whole year and then finished 11th—which is amazing—by winning the Masters. I’m almost 100 percent he will be in the top 10 at the end of this year."
