Rafael Nadal knows how elite sport requires mind, body and spirit synergy.
The 20-time Grand Slam champion expressed support for gymnastics star Simone Biles, who withdrew from the Olympic team and all-around competitions due to mental issues. Biles returned to competition to win the bronze medal on balance beam.

In an interview with CBS News anchor Norah O'Donnell, two-time Olympic gold-medal champion Nadal said if Biles was not ready to compete she shouldn't feel forced to do so.
“[I respect Biles] 100 percent. If you don’t feel ready, you have been working so hard during all your life to achieve your dream," Nadal said. "She achieved amazing things, and I am sure she will be back.
"But if in this moment she doesn’t feel ready, and why she has to do it?”
