Watch: Recalling Graf's Golden Grand Slam

Thirty years after Steffi Graf made history, her golden Grand Slam season still glitters brightly.

The former world No. 1 was just 19 years old when she defeated Gabriela Sabatini, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1, in the 1988 US Open final to complete the calendar Grand Slam.

The Flushing Meadows major posted this video to commemorate Graf's 1988 US Open title run.

Weeks after her US Open championship, Graf made history as the only player to complete the golden Grand Slam as she stopped Sabatini in the gold-medal match, 6-3, 6-3, at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games.

Graf won 32 matches sweeping the golden Grand Slam and surrendered just three sets in those 32 matches.

She dropped the opening set to Martina Navratilova in the 1988 Wimbledon final rallying for a 5-7, 6-2, 6-1 win; lost the second set to Sabatini in New York and dropped the second set to 11th-seeded Latvian Larissa Neiland in the Olympic quarterfinals in a 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 victory.

The Hall of Fame legend, who split two career meetings with Serena Williams, said she believes 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena will eclipse Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 Grand Slam singles championships by winning 25 career majors.

"Absolutely, yes," Graf said of Serena’s shot to win 25 majors. "I think a lot of it is determined on her drive and if that is what she wants to do."
