Garbiñe Muguruza has yet to surpass the US Open second round, but the Wimbledon champion is second to none among bettors wagering she will win her second straight Grand Slam championship in New York.
Since Muguruza crushed Simona Halep in the Cincinnati final to claim her second title of the season, more than two-thirds of the bets placed on the US Open women's field have picked the two-time Grand Slam champion to win her first Flushing Meadows title.

Oddschecker rates the 23-year-old Spaniard as the US Open favorite, followed by world No. 1 Karolina Pliskova, Roland Garros runner-up Halep, Johanna Konta and Elina Svitolina.
Pliskova, the 2016 US Open runner-up to Angelique Kerber, has seen her backing decline since Muguruza defeated the WTA ace leader, 6-3, 6-2, in the Cincinnati semifinals on Saturday.
"Muguruza has been extremely heavily backed since her win in Cincinnati, accounting for 69.5 percent of bets since Sunday evening at 19/4," Oddschecker spokesman Ross Whent told Tennis Now. "After making light work of Pliskova in the semis, the Czech has only seen 6.7 percent of bets at 7/1."
Roger Federer remains the clear favorite to collect his third Grand Slam title of the season in New York followed by world No. 1 Rafael Nadal.
Cincinnati champion Grigor Dimitrov's stock has spiked among bettors since he claimed his first Masters crown in Cincinnati on Sunday.
Overall, two-time Masters champion Alexander Zverev, who defeated Novak Djokovic in the Rome final and toppled Federer in the Montreal final, is riding a wave of support.
The 20-year-old German has draw more betting support this month than any other man, including Federer.
Zverev is the third favorite followed by 2012 US Open champion Andy Murray, Cincinnati finalist Nick Kyrgios, 2014 US Open champion Marin Cilic and Dimitrov.
"It's a similar story on the men’s side, with Dimitrov accounting for 51.5 perccent of bets to win since Sunday evening at 20/1," Oddschecker spokesman Ross Whent said. "Taking August as a whole, Zverev remains the most backed though, just edging out Federer.
"Zverev has seen 24.3 percent of bets placed on him at 8/1, while Federer slightly lower with 23.7 percent at 6/4. Federer also has had the larger stakes placed on him and remains the outright favorite."
