World No. 1 Novak Djokovic and 14-time major champion Rafael Nadal could meet in the quarterfinals of the US Open, the draw revealed on Thursday afternoon in New York.

If they meet it would be the second time that Djokovic and Nadal have faced each other at the quarterfinals at a major this season. The Serb took their previous meeting, 7-5, 6-3, 6-1, at Roland Garros this spring.

If the seeds hold in New York, the quarterfinals will shape up as follows:

Top 1/2:

[4] Nishikori vs. [7] Ferrer

Bottom 1/2:
[2] Federer vs. [6] Berdych
[5] Wawrinka vs. [3] Murray

Djokovic will open his tournament with Joao Souza of Brazil, while Roger Federer will begin his tournament with Leonardo Mayer of Argentina.

In a pair of enticing first-round matchups, Andy Murray has drawn Nick Kyrgios in round one, while Nadal will face up-and-coming 18-year-old Borna Coric in his opener.
