Rafael Nadal has pressed pause on his comeback.
The 21-time Grand Slam champion has withdrawn from next week's Barcelona Open, his team told Reuters.

"Rafa has just been withdrawn from the entry list in Barcelona," his team told Reuters. "We don't know yet when he will be at his first tournament on clay this year. Hopefully, soon."
Last month, the 35-year-old Spaniard announced he will be sidelined four to six weeks after suffering a stress fracture to his rib during his epic three hour, 12-minute Indian Wells semifinal triumph over 18-year-old Carlos Alcaraz.
"As it turns out, I have a stress crack in one of my ribs and will be out for 4-6 weeks," Nadal wrote on Twitter. "This is not good news and I did not expect this. "I am sunk and sad because after the start of the season I have had such a good time."
The Barcelona withdrawal puts Nadal's Roland Garros preparation at risk. Roland Garros starts on May 22nd. Nadal has opportunities to play Masters clay-court events in Madrid, starting on May 1st, and Rome, which begins May 8th, the question is will he be healthy enough to compete?
