The 35-year-old Hsieh first achieved the No.1 doubles ranking on May 12th, 2014, with further stints across 2020 and again earlier this season. Her return to No.1 will add to her 39-week total at the top, and she currently sits 19th on the all-time list.
Hsieh, from Chinese Taipei, has titles from the Mutua Madrid Open and Wimbledon in 2019 contributing to her ranking points, in addition to four titles in 2020, winning the Brisbane International, Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships, Qatar Total Open (Doha), and the Internazionali BNL d'Italia (Rome).
