Tennis is back. Sort of…

Dustin Brown will headline a field of eight players in the Tennis Point Exhibition Series in the Rhineland-Palatinate state in Germany. The event, which will be televised by Tennis Channel and without spectators in attendance, will take place from May 1-4.

The Tennis Point Exhibition Series will feature eight men's tour players in a 32-match, round-robin competition with prize money and playoffs on the last day of play. The event is the first to include professional players since the men's and women's tennis tours went on hiatus in March.

The event will follow the ATP Next Gen scoring format: best-of-three short sets to four; tiebreaks at three and no-advantage scoring. Each player will be competing in two matches a day, followed by playoffs to determine final standings.

More of the same will be coming later in the month as in mid-May the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy will host the Ultimate Tennis Showdown, which will conduct live matches every weekend in the South of France for five consecutive weeks. Players already on the entry list are David Goffin, Fabio Fognini, Benoit Paire and Alexei Popyrin. According to the website, the tournament plans to host 50 matches in that span.
