Andy Murray’s first-round opponent at Queen’s Club was busy winning his fourth career title in another country on Monday. Nicolas Mahut completed his 6-4, 6-4 victory over Gilles Muller by taking the second set of their final at the Ricoh Open at ‘s-Hertogenbosch.

Now the Frenchman will have to get to London where he is slated to face the top-seeded Murray at Queen’s Club. But first, a bit of celebration.

Mahut needed only one break point to turn the trick on Monday, and when Muller double-faulted to give the Frenchman a 2-1 lead at the resumption of their suspended final, the Frenchman took care of the rest easily on serve.

Mahut dropped only two first-serve points in set two to march to his fourth career title, three of which have come in Holland.

“Winning the first time three years ago was very emotional for me, winning last year for the second time was something that I didn’t expect, for the third time it’s maybe too much for me,” said Mahut.

Mahut was given a wild card into the event after his missed the cut-off for signup, and he made it pay dividends. Mahut improves to 18-2 lifetime at ‘s-Hertogenbosch, while Muller dropped to 0-4 lifetime in finals. Luxembourg’s top player snapped a seven-match losing streak in semifinals when he defeated Ivo Karlovic, and he had also disposed of top-seeded David Ferrer earlier in the week.
