Tallon Griekspoor will bid to become the first Dutchman to win the Marrakech title on Sunday, as he faces Italy’s Luciano Darderi for the title.

Griekspoor edged Poland’s Kamil Majchrzak, 7-5, 7-6(3), to reach his fourth ATP final, and first on clay.
“Always nice to qualify for a final, it doesn’t happen every week,” he said. “Happy with the performance today, it was a very tough match – break down in the first and saved a couple of break points deep in the second, very pleased with the win today.”
The top seed cracked 27 winners against 30 unforced errors and saved four of five break points, including three in succession while serving at 4-4, 0-30 in the second set.
He then took his chances in the tiebreak, running out to a 4-1 lead and converting his first match point for his 14th win of the season against six losses.
Griekspoor owns a 2-0 lifetime edge against Darderi, including a straight sets win on clay at Roland-Garros last year in the second round.
Darderi reached his second ATP final with a 6-3, 6-2 win over 2023 champion Roberto Carballes Baena. At 23 years old, he is the youngest Marrakech finalist since Borna Coric in 2017.
