Krueger, 20, took out teen sensation Mirra Andreeva, 6-1, 6-4 on the Grandstand, as she broke the 17-year-old’s serve six times and dominated from the baseline to win in 64 minutes.

Krueger, the former Orange Bowl and USTA 18s champion, is playing at a career-high ranking of 59. She will face Russia’s Liudmila Samsonova in the third round.

“To be in the third round is a dream,” she said.

Krueger won her maiden title in Osaka Japan last year, then cracked the Top-100. It has been a good run for her this summer as well. She defeated 25th-ranked Leylah Fernandez in Toronto, then toppled Naomi Osaka to qualify for Cincinnati, where she defeated 23rd-ranked. Donna Vekic,
