The ATP announced  it fined Kyrgios the maximum $10,000 for "lack of best efforts," $5,000 for verbal abuse of a spectator and $1,500 for unsportsmanlike conduct.

The 14th-ranked Aussie avoided a suspension after tanking points in his straight-sets loss to 110th-ranked German qualifier Mischa Zverev.

In addition to his apathetic effort, Kyrgios feuded with chair umpire Ali Nili and fans during the 48-minute meltdown.

Afterward, Kyrgios tweeted this apology.
