17-year-old American Kayla Day has earned the USTA’s Australian Open main draw wild card. The Santa Barbara native will play in her second consecutive Grand Slam. She earned a wild card into this year’s U.S. Open by winning the USTA 18s and proceeded to reach the second round.

She lost to Madison Keys, 6-1, 6-1, in the second round and currently holds a 1-2 record at Tour level.

Day climbed to No.1 in the junior rankings this summer after she won the U.S. Open juniors.
