In a podcast interview with Generali, Kerber says fan support fuels her competitive fire and she hopes to feel their energy when tournaments begin again.
"The fans who support me at big tournaments. I feel their energy," Kerber told the podcast Lunch-Break with Angie Kerber. "I have already won a few matches with this energy.
"Because I know I'm not just playing for myself now, but also for those who suffer with me and want to win with me."
The world No. 21 has been working out regularly during the sport's shutdown. Kerber said it's vital to remain mentally strong.
"Tennis is a matter of the head, you have to be mentally strong," Kerber said. "If you show a few seconds of weakness against a top player, the game can turn immediately."
