Asked why he chose tennis in the first place, Murray offered a candid response.
"It was one of the few things I was good at, really," Murray told the children. "But I did it because I enjoyed it and I had fun doing it. So I've been very lucky."
The two-time Olympic gold medal champion recalled learning on the job was part of his early tennis career.
Murray said he played his first match at the age of seven when he was so new to the sport he "didn't even know the rules or how to keep score at that age."
