More: Serena Wins First Title since 2017
The 23-time Grand Slam champion is playing to match Margaret Court's all-time major mark by winning her 24th Grand Slam title in Melbourne.
Relive all seven of Williams' AO title triumphs in this video celebration the tournament posted.
While the 38-year-old Williams' fashion sense and hairstyles have evolved in the years she since she defeated older sister Venus Williams 7-6(4), 3-6, 6-4 in the 2003 final, the damaging serve, fast first step, explosive strikes, closing power are constants in Williams' title runs.
Those are all qualities the four-time gold-medal champion, who has lost her last four Grand Slam finals, will need to summon if she's to high step into history and equal tennis' most precious record.
Serena warmed up for Melbourne winning Auckland in her first title since she beat Venus to win the 2017 Australian Open. It was also her first championship since giving birth to daughter Olympia, who was on hand to celebrate.
The 2019 US Open finalist said summoning the real Serena at crunch time will be key to matching Court's historic major mark.
"I honestly don't think Serena showed up," Williams said after her straight-sets loss to Bianca Andreescu in the US Open final. "I have to kind of figure out how to get her to show up in Grand Slam finals."
