Serena Williams' 2020 debut features a couple of familiar faces.
The 23-time Grand Slam champion will partner buddy Caroline Woznicki in doubles at the ASB Classic in Monday before launching her 2020 singles season against two-time Grand Slam champion Svetlana Kuznetsova on Tuesday.

It will be the 14th career meeting between the future Hall of Famers. Williams has won 10 of their prior 13 meetings. This is their first clash since Williams scored a 7-5, 6-0 win at the 2016 Wimbledon.
"I like to play really tough opponents in the first round, and there's no better way to start than to start serious," Williams told the media in Auckland. "I really love her and adore her, and I wish it could've been a little bit later, for both of us."
In her last Auckland appearance, Williams fell to world No. 72 Madison Brengle in the 2017 round of 16. Weeks later, Serena defeated older sister Venus Williams to collect her 23rd career Grand Slam title at the Australian Open.
Bidding for her 73rd career title, the 38-year-old American said she's eager for a fast start in her Auckland return.
"I always knew that I would have to come back, for sure. I didn't even realize what was happening, and now I'm here with my daughter," Serena said. "This is kind of where it all began. It's amazing. It's so exciting to be here with her, and to know that this is literally where it started."
