Serena Williams launches her quest for an Open-Era record 23rd Grand Slam title at the Australian Open today.

When the world No. 2 isn’t busy pursuing history, she’ll be busy with her new vocation: Wedding planner.

Australian Open: Live Blog

The 35-year-old Williams announced her engagement to 33-year-old Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian last month.

The couple hasn’t hired a wedding planner because Serena plans to do the job herself.

“I do event planning all the time, actually,” Serena told Australia’s Channel 10 before the start of the Australian Open. “I do events every year. I do everything from the food to the looks to the everything. I think in a different life I was a wedding planner or an event planner.”

Does Serena’s engagement mean sister Venus will be losing her life-long roommate?

Asked if she anticipates Ohanian moving into their Palm Beach Gardens, Florida home, Venus said it’s the couple’s call.

“I haven't asked any questions, because that's kind of up to them,” Venus said after her Australian Open first-round win over Kateryna Kozlova. “They don't need any pressure from me or family members, like do this, do that.

"They have to figure out this life together. That's their job. I just kind of go with the flow. I can always get on a plane if she moves somewhere else.”
