Amanda Anisimova immerses herself in visualizing everything—including the crowd—before she steps on court.
The Roland Garros champion discusses diet, nutrition and the mental game in a chat with actor James Davis as part of Nike's Athlete's Cookbook series.

Top athletes share their nutritional secrets and favorite meals in the series. In this case, Davis shares sushi wrapping skills with Anisimova, who says she eats largely a "plant-based diet" but also enjoys fish and chicken.
Last June, a then 17-year-old Anisimova become the first player, male or female, born in the 2000s to reach a Grand Slam quarterfinal at Roland Garros. There, the teenager rilled 25 winners deconstructing defending Roland Garros champion Simona Halep, 6-2, 6-4, rolling into her first Grand Slam semifinal in Paris.
Anisimova says visualization is part of her pre-match preparation.
"I definitely try to visualize everything, including the atmosphere in the crowd," Anisimova said. "Because they're all little moments that you might be affected by. So I just try to picture out how everything's going to turn out."
