Sharapova accepted a Wild Card into the Mutua Madrid Open on Wednesday, meaning that she’ll now play Stuttgart (April 24-30), Madrid (May 7-14) and likely Rome (May 14-21, though she has yet to be offered an official Wild Card there yet) as the first three events of her comeback.
That’s pretty awesome news for Sharapova, who has gone 66-7 on clay since the beginning of 2012. Sharapova—aka Claypova—has won eight titles in that span, including two at Roland Garros. She has also gone 20-1 in deciding sets on clay in that span, losing to only Angelique Kerber in the Stuttgart final.
Do you think Sharapova will get back to her winning ways on clay?
