David Ferrer believes 2020 will be a major encore— and possibly record year for Rafael Nadal.
While the world No. 1 doesn't wear a cape on court, Ferrer believes Nadal is "a superhero" who will eventually break Roger Federer's record of 20 Grand Slam titles, perhaps in the next year or two.

Nadal and Novak Djokovic split the Grand Slam spoils this year. Ferrer told Express Sport 19-time Grand Slam champion Nadal is intent on surpassing Federer's major mark.
"I think his goal is to win as many Grand Slams as possible," Ferrer told Express Sport. "It is a target for him. He wants to do something like Roger. It is a very good target for him to still keep going. It is more difficult but in this moment he is the No 1 in the world. So he is in a good place."
While Ferrer suggests young stars like ATP Finals champion Stefanos Tsitsipas, two-time Roland Garros runner-up Dominic Thiem and Daniil Medvedev will all be major contenders, he says Nadal is favorite to finish as year-end No. 1 for a sixth time.
"Tsitsipas, Thiem, Medvedev are very good players but Rafa for me is the favorite to finish next year as world No 1," Ferrer said. "He can do it."
