Many top players love their private planes. Roger Federer loves his NetJets, Novak Djokovic is another.

Not Simona Halep. The Romanian decided to take a private plane with her team from the Rogers Cup in Toronto to the Western and Southern Open in Cincinnati, but it turns out that Halep was not up for the small prop experience and ended up refusing to get back on after the plane made a stopover in Buffalo, N.Y.

She ended up driving six hours from Buffalo with her coach Darren Cahill. The Aussie did most of the driving but Halep chipped in two hours.

Anything to keep her off that plane.

“For me it was relaxing after that plane,” she said. “The plane was moving a little bit too much, so I was safe on the ground.”
